In development
See what's ahead. Keep your money private.
Open Balance maps your income and outgoings on a simple timeline, so you can see your balance at any point and plan ahead. No bank linking, no advertising, nothing sold to anyone.
Why we exist
Money's tighter for a lot of people right now. Seeing where yours goes shouldn't be.
Rising bills land on every household differently, but the effect is the same: it gets harder to keep a clear picture of where your money's going. Open Balance gives you that picture back using nothing but the numbers you enter and simple maths, no bank connection, no jargon, no judgement, and no financial advice. Just arithmetic, laid out clearly enough to actually use, built the same way for everyone, whatever your situation.
How it works
Three steps to a clear picture.
Open Balance is built around how household money actually moves, not around linking accounts or selling you products.
-
01
Add income and outgoings
Enter what comes in and what goes out, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or a one-off cost. No bank connection, you stay in control of every entry.
-
02
See your balance on a timeline
Watch your money in and out across the weeks ahead and read your projected balance at any point in time.
-
03
Project and test what-ifs
Try a new expense, a pay change, or a one-off cost and see how it moves your balance before it happens.
Built for a real financial life
Everything your money actually involves, not just the basics.
A clear timeline is the start, not the whole story. Here's what comes with it.
-
See your whole financial life, not just cash flow
Loans, savings, credit balances, and other debts sit right alongside your day-to-day money, because your finances are never just what's in your current account.
-
Stay organised as life gets more complicated
Notes, labels, and categories keep even a busy household budget easy to read, not just a long list of numbers.
-
Handles more than one currency, properly
Enter amounts in other currencies and Open Balance converts them to GBP on your device, so you always have one consistent view.
-
A financial statement, ready whenever you need one
Turn what you've tracked into a clear statement you can hand to a lender, adviser, or landlord, without scrambling to put one together.
-
Your data, always yours to take
Export everything you've entered whenever you like. Nothing about your plan is locked in, trust isn't something you should have to hope for.
Private by design
We're building this so we can't read your numbers.
Not a policy we promise to follow, a design choice. At launch, your accounts, balances, income, debts, and plans will be encrypted on your own device before any of it reaches us. We will never sell your data or run adverts against it; there will be nothing readable in your vault for us to sell.
- Encrypted on your device. We can't read it, even if we wanted to
- No bank linking, no account aggregation, nothing to link
- No adverts, and nothing sold. Ever
Security and compliance
Built to verifiable standards.
The Open Balance platform is being built to align with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 control frameworks. At launch, your data will be locked using military-grade encryption. There will be no bank linking or third-party trackers, and the design means we will not be able to read your financial data. Even if someone stole the entire database, the additional secret required to unlock it would not be there.
For charities and advice services
If a debt charity or adviser referred you here.
Referrals from debt charities and financial advice organisations get a voucher that credits their bill instead of paying full price, no means test, no judgement. It's a small, concrete part of the same idea behind the whole product: everyone deserves a clear view of their own money, including people already doing the hard work of turning things around.
